Dr. Steven Tipps is a graduate of Baylor School where he played football, basketball and was captain of the track team. He graduated from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He received his dental degree in 1979 from the University Of Tennessee College of Dentistry.
He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Of Tennessee Memorial Hospital, Knoxville Tennessee.
He is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Tipps has been in private practice in Chattanooga since 1983 with Associates in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, P.C.
He is affiliated with all local hospitals.
Dr. Tipps is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Southeastern Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Chattanooga Area Dental Society, American Dental Association and Tennessee Dental Association. He has served as president of the Chattanooga Area Dental Society.
He states that he has been privileged to participate in several mission trips to Haiti, Costa Rica, Honduras and Belize as well as Remote Access Medical (RAM) clinics in Southeast Tennessee.
He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Mary Leslie and their two daughters: Beth and Katelyn. He also has one chocolate Labrador Retriever that wrecks havoc to his house and yard. He enjoys fishing, hunting and flying. He is a member of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church.
